Bashkortostan is among Russia’s leaders for greenhouse vegetables cultivation

Bashkortostan ranks second in Russia for the industrial vegetable output in 2016, as reported by the media office of the republic’s Ministry of agriculture.

A total of 66.5 k tons of greenhouse vegetable was produced in the republic in 2016. This indicator 0.5 % exceeds 2015. At that, the cucumber yield has dropped by 9.6% to 44.4 k tons. Tomato output has grown by 26% to reach 21.2 k tons.

The leader of greenhouse vegetables production in Russia is still the Krasnodar Territory — 88 k tpa in 2016.

Bashkortostan comes next with 66.5 k tons. Karachay Cherkeesia ranks third — 45.8 k tons. The Stavropol Territory ranks fourth with 42.4 k tons. The Republic of Tatarstan tails the top five regions for greenhouse vegetables production, with the output as of 37.7 k tons.
